After graduating from American Film Institute with an M.F.A. in Producing, J.D. Boyce’s award-winning work as a writer and producer screened at multiple prestigious domestic and international film festivals. As both a runner-up and eventual grand prize winner of the HBO Short Film Award, the network licensed two of his film projects for prime-time cable television distribution. He previously taught producing at New York Film Academy and conducted video post-production training programs for Apple Inc. to the next generation of filmmakers. 

J.D. Boyce also shares his unbridled enthusiasm for new media technology and its storytelling potential on a weekly live podcast on virtual reality that’s recorded within VR. He is currently writing and producing an interactive audio fiction project that shines light on the lives ruined by the mass incarceration epidemic.
